Eboni Bell

YOGA TEACHER

I make wellness practices accessible to Black women and WOC to harmonize their mind, movement, and breath to heal and create a lifestyle rooted in joy and authenticity. I started my yoga journey many years ago. I was fresh out of a relationship and attempting to manage anxious and depressive thoughts. During this time, I thought that I would give yoga a try and see if it would help me. After taking that one class, I didn’t find my way back to my mat for years. During this period, I became increasingly more aware that when life gets difficult and you become overwhelmed it can be hard to roll out your mat to practice and find your “center.” Further, the very thing that we can use to help us get through what we are experiencing can be incredibly hard to locate. An important lesson I have learned over the past few months is that you can show up through all of the chaos. While chaos can exist around you, you can show up and stand firmly within yourself just as you are.

Part of my goal as a yoga teacher is to create a healing space for Black women, men and children. It is important for me to co-create a space where people can be nurtured, a space wherein they do not have to worry about being too much, too loud, or too much of anything. I want to create a space where Black people can be reflected without any qualifiers. Where there is no mold that they have to fit into. They can show up as themselves; whomever that person may be at that given place and time.

Denisha Parker

YOGA TEACHER

My name is Denisha and I am the owner and founder of Yoga Nisha, a wellness space where all are welcome and encouraged to embrace self. I am a proud Mama of 5. My goal is to create spaces that my children and future generations can connect with. Spaces where we are seen and heard. My mission is to provide a diverse group of individuals a safe space to have unique experiences that promote mindfulness, empowerment, and self-exploration. I believe that everyone should make time for themselves. Connection to one's mind, body and soul is the key to self-healing. Creating diverse wellness spaces is important to me as current wellness spaces lack diversity and resources to promote inclusivity. It’s time to shift wellness spaces, to promote mental and physical well-being for all. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Masters degree in Special Education.

I have been teaching Special education for 12 years. In addition to being an Intervention Specialist, I have been a Barre3 Instructor for the past 5 ½ years. In April of 2020 I became 200HR certified as a Vinyasa and slow flow teacher. In November of 2020, I became certified in Yin receiving an additional 50HR certification. Needless to say, I love to teach on many different levels. Teaching is my calling. To teach is to learn twice.

Lonnie Webb

YOGA TEACHER

Lonnie Webb, RYT 200, discovered yoga while navigating a difficult time in her life. She was introduced to yoga as an opportunity to manage her depression and now, over 13 years later, she continues to practice yoga to grow stronger both mentally and emotionally. An important lesson she has learned through her yoga practice is that even when life is at its messiest, you can show up on your mat and walk away feeling renewed. She started to see that the more time she found time to practice yoga, the more it became a powerful act of self care. As a yoga instructor, Lonnie’s goal is to create a safe space for all people, but in particular women of color and new yogis.

Her yoga offerings are all rooted in joy while incorporating breath exercises, affirmations, and meditation. In her class you will be motivated to tap into your inner power while learning to listen to what your body needs. Yoga is not about being able to do bendy and flexible moves–it is about showing up your most authentic self, listening to what your body needs and allowing your strength to show up in different aspects of your life off the mat. Lonnie’s hope is for her students to walk away feeling a sense of release and regained power.
