About Our Work

When we started this movement in 2016 at a donation based class in the park, we had no idea the impact we’d have on womxn of color in our community and globally through social media.

In just 2 years, we’ve worked with over 30 local organizations, taught over 100 donation based yoga classes, led 2 sold out yoga retreats and boast a Founder, Angie Franklin, who has just become one of the newest lululemon ambassador in her region.

As we wrap 2019, Angie launched our first ever Mentorship Program for yoga instructors of color and is preparing for the 2nd Annual Afro Yoga Gatherings event in October — the highest turnout event of the year.

WORKSHOPS

Through a shared vision of creating inclusive and diverse wellness spaces, we partner with our community to offer unique experiences. Our founder, Angie Franklin, specializes in facilitating workshop experiences that teach our PLAE Principles as an accessible framework to practice everyday wellness. We’d love to combine our efforts to see the narrative of wellness expand. If you think your community would benefit from our work, contact us at info@afroyoga.org.
